Happiness is about loving what you have James Van Praagh fb

“Happiness isn’t about getting what you want all the time. It’s about loving what you have and being grateful for it.”

James Van Praagh, from his facebook page

Happiness is not about finding perfection in this life. Happiness is about deciding to see beyond the imperfections. LOVE isn’t about getting more or better. LOVE is about realizing the gift that is already ours and connecting to it with our heart.

When we look around, we can see the imperfections of life or we can see the miracles of life. We can find fault, or we can see the LOVE from which everything is formed. We can doubt our goodness, or we can grasp the degree to which we are the LOVE we seek and to which we are LOVED.

Our system of education teaches us to dissect things into their component parts, even human beings. But this approach ignores the degree to which we are all One and are all interconnected. It also ignores the fact that all living beings are more than the components detectable through the five senses. Also, our news reporting lets us know of tragedies large and small throughout the world. But the random acts of kindness which take place every day throughout the world are largely ignored by the media. Perhaps our belief that we are separate rather than One makes it harder for us to LOVE all of life. Perhaps our belief that we are responsible for fixing the world makes it harder for us to see its goodness and LOVE and find happiness with what is.

“God, I know I have everything I need right now and that the highest good for my soul is being orchestrated on my behalf. Help me appreciate all the LOVE in this and other worlds for me. Help me respond with LOVE and gratitude to all the good around me. Thank you, God. I love you.”
